Chronic rhinitis is a chronic inflammatory condition of the nasal mucosa caused by viruses, bacteria, allergens, various physical and chemical factors, as well as certain systemic diseases. Its clinical presentation is characterized by nasal congestion, increased nasal secretions, and a disease course lasting for several months or recurring episodes over time.
Chronic rhinitis is categorized into allergic and non-allergic types, depending on the presence or absence of allergic factors. Non-allergic rhinitis can be further subdivided into vasomotor rhinitis, pregnancy rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, drug-induced rhinitis, and dry rhinitis, among others. This section focuses on the discussion of allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, and atrophic rhinitis.
