Fibrosarcoma of bone is a rare, primary malignant bone tumor originating from fibrous tissue. It most commonly occurs in the diaphyseal side of the metaphysis of long bones in the limbs, with the femur being the most frequently affected site. The main clinical manifestations are pain and swelling. X-ray imaging typically shows lytic bone destruction within the medullary cavity, appearing moth-eaten with poorly defined margins and minimal periosteal reaction.
Treatment
Depending on surgical staging, wide or radical local excision or amputation is performed. This tumor generally shows poor response to chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
